The easiest way is to use our TDA album planning and ordering software and email the order, otherwise you will need to provide some written instructions relating to cover details, packaging, etc. We cannot start production on your album until we receive all your images. DIY "Slip In" albums & Studio Magazine albums do not need images sent as you insert them yourself at the studio once you receive your album. Considerations

With the current trends to newer, non traditional printing materials, we thought it would be wise to explain the pros and cons of using some of the new non traditional printing materials including Metallic prints and Ink Jet prints.

Inkjet and Metallic Prints - Considerations

A lot of confusion abounds with the introduction of and the steady growth of Inkjet and metallic prints. Quality continues to improve and costs continue to reduce. We have worked reasonably well with this type of media but not without incident. Our biggest problem is that if the surface of and inkjet print gets wet or if particles from the adhesive that we work with come in contact with the surface, cleaning is almost impossible and metallic prints are extremely fragile and prone to a higher degree of damage than normal lustre prints. Although we at Albums Australia take every care when handling and working with these types of paper, we cannot be held liable for damage or re-do’s caused from these types of occurrences. Another consideration is that china graph pencils used to number the print sequences cannot be cleaned from these surfaces like they can with traditional photographic prints.

If you supply Inkjet/metallic prints to us for use in our albums, you must let us know that they are inkjet/metallic prints so we can accord extra care. You must also supply a thumbnail sheet identifying the location of each image within the finished album. Failing to do so can lead to print damage or delays in processing the order.

TAX

Australia - A 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) is applicable on all products sold within Australia. GST is not applicable to export sales.

Overseas Destinations - No export taxes are applicable to purchases made from outside of Australia. However local import duties may apply.

PRODUCTION TIMES

We have put together the following guidelines to help you better understand and approximate how long it takes to make and deliver our handcrafted album presentations.

For a detailed look at how our Production Times are calculated, please follow this link

To calculate a normal production time for custom designed albums, start by adding the quantity of production days for the type of album you have chosen (highlighted in yellow) and then add only the single largest value of any extras that your album design contains.

I.E. a Matrix album (15 working days) with an Acrylic cover (+5 working days) with the Print and Assembly service (+8 working days) creates a production cycle time of 23 working days because you add the  normal album time of a Matrix 15 and the largest production time (print & assembly in this case +8) to get a 23 day cycle.

IMPORTANT POINTS:

A start date can only be determined once ...

1)  Payment has been successfully taken up for the order

2)  All image files or prints that are required for us to make the album, have been received by us in a usable condition.

3)  Our production run (cycle) begins on the Monday of every week. Your order must be received (with any prints needed for production) by Wednesday
5 pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time) to be included in that production run. Orders that miss this cutoff will need to wait for the next production run on the following Monday.

Other Considerations:

Every album we make is made by hand to your specifications. Nothing is mass produced. This degree of craftsmanship does take longer than machine made components and albums.

Most photographers incorporate photographic prints and images in many of their album designs, this requires that the prints be delivered to us before we can begin making an album. Prints are then scrutinised to ensure that they arrive in the best possible condition and to the correct size.

We pride ourselves in maintaining the highest standards of quality control but sometimes this also can cause delays. Minor flaws or inconsistencies can cause an album to be rejected at the final quality check. Repairs and fixes must be made to ensure that the album you receive is right the first time.
Because of these factors (many of which are out of our control), Albums Australia will never promise a delivery by any specific date but we will do our best to maintain a normal schedule that you can confidently use to accurately calculate our production time cycles and delivery dates.

Thank you for understanding and please feel free to call us if you are unsure of any of this.
